Hello all. I'm down in savannah GA and just bought myself a slam fire. I'm planning on using it to test a proof of concept electronics delivery platform. I'm working on a few sensors to fire out of it now and can't wait to get my launcher to start testing. How long does it usually take to ship items?

Forum: Introduce Yourself to the forum

Form 1 info needed for RV 85 registration

I'm doing a Form 1 on my "CZ" 26.5mm RV 85 flare launching rifle and need some help with a couple of the Form 1 entries please.

1) On the Internet, the model number has been listed as "RV 85", "RV85", and "RV-85". Since mine is marked "RV 85", that is the model number I think I should enter. Is that correct?

2) As to the original maker, on the Internet, it has been listed as "CZ", "CZ BRNO", "BRNO Arms Factory", "BRNO Czechoslovakia", "BRNO National Company", "Ceska Zbrojovka", and "Zbrojovka BRNO". Mine is marked "ZBROJOVKA BRNO", so that is the maker name I think I should enter. Is that correct? (Note: I think "CZ" is an abbreviation for "Ceska Zbrojovka" and is used because it is easier to pronounce and write, especially in foreign sales. My launcher appears to have the "CZ" logo stamped on the bottom of the receiver in front of "ZBROJOVKA BRNO".)

3) As to where it was originally made, I have found "Brno Czechoslovakia" and "Brno Czech Republic". Which would be correct? I suspect "Brno Czechoslovakia" would be correct, as the Czech Republic did not exist until 1993. Brno is the city's name.

In regards to marking my name, city, and state, I do have a set of hardened letter stamps. On my RV 85 I see some of the markings are stamped, some appear to be etched, and some may have been milled. Has anyone stamped their info on their RV 85? If so, how hard was the steel to stamp? Where do you recommend I stamp my name, etc (if stamping would be the way to go)? If I do stamp, I will practice on some scrap metal first, as I've never stamped into metal. Since the launcher wouldn't be real valuable, I see no downside to marking it myself.

Thank you your help

Forum: Destructive Device's

Seems to me like this is an area that has not been well explored. That or, we haven't seen the research that must be out there. I have a few questions, based on the ownership of my NON DD 37mm launcher. For instance;

1. Has anyone ever tried making a muzzle blast round ?
2. How about a "pyrotechnic crossover" type of round?
3. Has anyone ever tried coffee creamer? - quite flammable!
4. How about incorporating a liquid (flammable) delivery system?
5. A muzzle blast fog (smoke ) round?

IF we can discuss without flames, perhaps we can all learn.

W&E

Forum: 40mm, 37mm, and 26.5mm
